Access Statement

Introduction

Notter Mill Holiday Park has a David Bellamy GOLD award and is located just off the A38 at Notter Bridge.  There are 10 bungalows in a secluded and peaceful valley setting offering self catering accommodation. The park has a flat road surface apart from the slope to enter the park and slight speed ramps.
All accommodation is on the ground floor. There are 6 bungalows sleeping up to 6, 3 up to 7 and one sleeping up to 8.

  • Public transport timetables are available in each bungalow and in reception
  • The local bus service stops on the A38 which is a short 5 minute walk on a flat road from the park
  • The bus service provides transport into Plymouth and Liskeard. A shop mobility scheme operates in Plymouth and public toilets have wheelchair access.

 

  • Our brochure which is sent before arrival has clear instructions on how to get here and a complete description of facilities both on the park and in the accommodation. Customers are encouraged to call and discuss any requirements they may have.


Arrival and car parking facilities

* Reception has a bell which will alert attention and ensure that visitors are personally met on arrival.
Visitors are then taken to there accommodation and given an explanation on how things work and a short description of local amenities. This provides an opportunity for any questions or concerns to be addressed.

  • Most bungalows have parking for one car adjacent to the property. Some have room for 2 cars. There is additional car parking facilities in the car park situated at the entrance to the park. The car park is a few minutes walk from all properties.
  • The park is lit by security lights at the entrance which is on an automatic timer and there are lights outside each bungalow for arrivals in the dark.
  • There is a small step into each bungalow except for the 3 wheelchair accessible ones which have a ramp.

Public areas

Reception and information centre

  • Access via a slightly sloping wooden ramp. It is carpeted inside. Both doors can be opened to provide wheelchair access. Lit after dark inside and out. Open 24 hrs.
  • This room provides tourist information, public transport information, puzzles, games, tennis and badminton rackets, a payphone and wildlife information on the park

Restaurant/ Dinning Room, Bar and Lounges and take away

  • There are none on site.
  • There is a public house 5 minutes walk away serving food and drink.

Laundry

  • Two coin operated domestic washing machines and a commercial domestic dryer
  • Clear instructions on use of the machines
  • Change available
  • Access via a non slip slope covered in a rubber matting.
  • Standard door frame which is not wheelchair accessible

Outdoor Facilities

Swimming Pool

  • Access via a gentle concrete slope with a gate that locks in place
  • Concrete paving surrounds the pool on 3 sides and decking on one side. On the decking area are 6 sets of tables and chairs all plastic. This area has 4 plant pots.
  • Fencing a meter high surrounds the whole pool area
  • There is life saving equipment and an emergency bell.
  • All bungalows have a full swimming pool user guide and guests are asked to read this before use.
  • Children under 15 are not allowed in the pool unaccompanied by an adult
  • A member of the staff has an emergency response certificate

Children’s play area

  • A variety of swings, wooden climbing equipment and a fairly flat football field.
  • Wheelchair access can be gained through the entrance to the park and via the conservation area. This is a grassed flat area.

Tennis court

  • Open from March to October
  • Adjacent to the football field behind the swimming pool.
  • Access via a set of wooden steps over the bund or for wheelchairs the same way as to the field.
  • Rackets available in reception


Conservation area

  • An undulating path by the riverside suitable for dog walking
  • Compost bin, small allotment and an area of wildlife development including two bee hives.
  • Entrance wheelchair accessible but not the river walk


Shop

  • Not available but coal and logs may be purchased from the owner

Conference and meeting rooms, clubs, entertainment and banqueting
